International Mother Language Day Paragraph

International Mother Language Day is a very important paragraph for Classes 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12. This paragraph is very important for Semester Exam. International Mother Language Day (150 Words)

The 21st of February is a red-letter day in our national life. It has a historical background. On this day in 1952, the brave sons of our country sacrificed their lives for our mother tongue, Bangla. The Bangali is the only nation that sacrificed lives for the mother tongue. To recognize the sacrifice of our heroic sons the UNESCO has declared the 21st February as International Mother Language Day in 1999. Now the day is observed all over the world. On the 21st of February, we get up very early in the morning. Then we go to the Shaheed Minar barefooted. We wear black badges. We sing the most touching song “Amar Bhaier Rakta Rangano….” We offer flowers to the language martyrs. The President, The Prime Minister, the opposition leader, and diplomates go to the Shaheed Minar and show due respect to the martyrs. We arrange seminars and cultural functions on this day. The national flag is kept half-mast on the top of each institution. Newspapers bring out special supplements. BTV and Bangladesh Betar telecast special programs. Really the 21st of February is both shocking and glorious to us.

 

Now, the 2nd paragraph on International Mother Language Day is a little bigger version of the upper one. Because this below paragraph has 250 words. Also, this paragraph is a little mature and the English sentence is more beautiful and refined. So I recommend you, if you are reading in class 8/9/10/11/12 then you should memorize the below paragraph. it will help get you better marks on exams.

International Mother Language Day (220 Words)

The 21st of February is a red-letter day in our history. It is observed as Shaheed Day or Mother Language Day. Throughout the year 1952, the students and general people of the then East Pakistan protested against the adamant declaration of the Pakistani leaders that “Urdu shall be the only state language of Pakistan.” The Bangalis opposed and protested this unjust imposition and denial of the status of their mother language. They demanded Bangla be given the status of the state language. Their protests culminated on 21. February 1952 when the police fired on a procession brought by the students at Dhaka University campus. Some of the valiant souls Rafiq, Jabbar, Salam, Barkat were killed. They are the first martyrs in the world for the cause of language. This blood-shedding is the historical 21st February. Since then the day is being observed as Shaheed Dubash. Through their sacrifices and blood, the martyrs brought home their demand for the status of Mother Language. In recognition of the struggle and sacrifices of the heroic Bangalis, and to promote and sustain every language in the world the UNESCO declared 21st February as International Mother Language Day in 1999. Since then the day is observed with honor and solemnity throughout the world.
